So this morning, I had the usual text exchange with my team over Ravesh's activity, which got into a healthy discussion (as always :P) On the much talked about event in Lahore, The Hum Style Awards, Sara initiated with, "I somehow agree to all the comments rolling on social media. "I was like hold on, "the majority of those people have grown up watching Star Parivar awards, Zee Cine awards, or few must also be following Oscars and Emmy's red carpets, so why so much fuss over those backless gowns? Isn't that hypocrisy" ???
Here, I would like to clarify that I always believed in modest clothing, be it men or women. My concern was why only those revealing clothes became the talk of the town when we had so many stunning ladies dressed modestly and walking around confidently.
In our conversation, Sara explained that our general public is habitual of seeing these celebrities as oppressed women in dramas. Hence, it's natural that it will be hard for them to digest such looks. Moreover, it wasn't only the western clothing but also how most of the ladies were not pulling off their dresses well.
Moving on, we mutually agreed that sensational journalism took over social media and made only a few individuals the point of attention, taking away the limelight from so many stunning ladies who looked drop-dead gorgeous in their attire. Sharing below our favorite looks from the Hum Style Awards:
Well we honestly cant do justice in parsing Vinny, she is the ultimate super model and her work speaks volume. Her presence, her aura at Hum Style awards was unmatchable. Diva game still going strong.
