Junaid Jamshed May Not Be With Us but These 5 Naats are Filling His Void this Ramadan

December 7, 2016 was the unfortunate day Pakistan lost one of its most loved personalities. Junaid Jamshed, the musical idol of the 90's kids who went on to become a preacher of international fame, passed away on this day in a tragic plane crash. It's been more than 2 years since then, but the memories of JJ are very fresh in our minds and will always be.

Percy Bysshe Shelley's quote, "Music, when great voices die, vibrates in the memories"; truly fits the void JJ has left. It's the 2nd Ramadan we are missing our icon on the TV screen hosting Ramadan show and spreading message of peace with his words of kindness and wisdom.

Yes, he is not with us anymore, but his these 5 naats are giving us the spirituality we seek during the holy month of Ramadan.

Muhammad Ka Roza

Ramadan is the month when most Muslims want to perform Umrah. The feeling of travelling to Madinah and presenting ourselves to the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.W.) cannot be expressed in words and this is what this beautiful Naat is all about. Junaid Jamshed has recited it with so much feel that can ignite the spiritual harmony in any one's life. If you are blessed enough to travel to the Land of Prophet, this naat should be in your playlist.

Mera Dil Badal De

Junaid Jamshed's journey from a pop star to a preacher needs no introduction. When Allah has to bless someone, HE makes them walk the path that brings them closer to HIM. Every Ramadan, all Muslims try to get close to the CREATOR and pray to HIM as much as possible. Mera Dil Badal De is more like JJ's own journey and it is the best dua you can make.

Ilahi Teri Chaukhat Par

Arguably one of our favorites, Ilahi Teri Chaukhat Par reminds us that everything we have is because of Allah. No matter where we get, we always turn to him and pray to him in times of need. Ilahi Teri Chaukhat Par reflects us all - who have nothing and praying remains the only option in our hands when we are helpless.

Duniya Ke Ae Musafir

Being Muslims, it is our belief that life on Earth is temporary and we have to meet our God one day. This beautiful kalaam sheds light on the journey of life and how people consider it as permanent. Through the kalaam, JJ has emphasized the need to remember that we are here for a very short time and we should not forget life after death no matter what.

Ya Tayba

Who doesn't want to visit Madina? The land where our Holy Prophet (S.A.W.W.) is resting is certainly one of the most precious places for all the Muslims. Ya Tayba eloquently praises the beauty of Madina. The composition lands straight into the hearts making you hum it all day long.

These naats are surely going to give you the spirituality you seek in this blessed month of Ramadan. JJ may have departed, but his legacy lives on - he lives on, in the hearts of millions of people around the world.
